Plants to put around my apartment balcony, to keep enemies at bay!?

why not go with some cactus plants, they don't need a lot of water, they do poke, and can be planted in pots. Get big pots that can't be moved easily. Or depending on where you live try planting Lantana, they poke, flower and need very little care.
