Why is is that governments are pledging all they can to help Japan and Haiti is still waiting for the millions?

I agree with you, the media seemed more concentrated on the developed nations. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, yet it should be at least have some improvement then before. I dont understand why gov like the US who live soo close havnt really aided them to much. i think its to do with financial ties with other countries, Haiti has never been a strong economy, so what other country would rely on them for money- no one. That is why maybe they aid richer nations, because this will benefit the helper in the future, as the saver may need to be saved later on- bilateral relations.
