How do you do a 25 or 50 percent water change without a gravel vacuum or siphon.?

I need to buy on i know but i dont have one right now so i was just wondering how i could do a water change without using the vacuum or siphon. Right now im saving my money so i can buy one but i dont think the fish tank can hold on till i have the money!
